The Township of St. Clair is seeking a motivated individual for a Museum Coordinator position within the Community Services Department.
Working directly under the supervision of the Director of Community Services, the Museum Coordinator is responsible for the administration and overall care of the collection under their supervision. Decisions must be made considering the needs of the collection’s security vs. public access, and the long-term development of the museum and its programs. Financial decisions regarding the best use of resources for the various activities of the museums must be made.

Education and Qualifications:
Qualifications will include university degree or college diploma in museum studies, museum technology, art history, visual art, history or other related field and 5 years’ related experience in museum operations. A certificate in Museum studies from the Ontario Museum Association considered would be considered an asset. Related experience to include demonstrated knowledge and understanding of artifact handling and preservation protocols, and of the museum environment and skills in use of databases and with Microsoft Office Suite.
