The Township of St. Clair is seeking motivated individuals for Part-time Front Desk Receptionist positions within the Community Services Department.
Principal responsibilities for this position are to provide information and direct users as required for the Department. Duties include maintaining a pleasant rapport while dealing effectively and courteously with customers, public and co-workers; receive and direct telephone and email messages to appropriate staff; perform opening and closing procedures for Reception, Health Club and Pool; receive and input information into the Program Registration System (PRS) and Facility Scheduling System (FSS); accept and process memberships and assist in orientating new customers to the facility; perform general office duties such as filing, typing, photocopying, cash handling, daily balancing, closings and placing day end cash in safe; and monitor by use of video equipment in the Health and Fitness Centre and track public swim attendance.
Education and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate must have completed a minimum of Grade 11 and be able to communicate with the public, be able to demonstrate effective public relations skills and show a keen interest in dealing with the public in a recreation environment. Must work well as an effective team member and be able to work efficiently without direct supervision.
The ideal candidate will also have or be willing to take First Aid and CPR training and be able to follow appropriate procedures in the event of an emergency. Background in aquatics, health & fitness, and/or recreation considered an asset.
