The Township of St. Clair is currently seeking Summer Students to fill positions at the Moore Museum as follows:

Museum Exhibit Designer – Canada Summer Jobs Youth
Job Description
• work with regular staff to plan, create and install exhibits of local history
• assist with cataloguing of donated artifacts
• assist with other museum functions as required.

Requirements for Canada Summer Jobs participants
To be eligible for this position the youth must:
• be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
• be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment; and,
• have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.”

Audience Engagement Assistant – Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations Student
Job description
As part of a team with regular staff, the student will carry out the following tasks:
• create digital content, including programs such as brief virtual tours and/or virtual exhibits highlighting various aspects of the Museum’s collection and a virtual field trip for school classes and at-home learners
• develop a schedule of social media posts, including developing a digital file of photos, videos, etc. needed for the above posts and posting content to social media throughout the work term
• assist with other museum functions as required.

Requirements for Young Canada Works in Heritage Organizations
The student must:
• be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident or have refugee status in Canada (Note: Non-Canadian students or graduates holding temporary work visas or awaiting permanent status are not eligible.);
• be legally entitled to work in Canada;
• be between 16 and 30 years of age at the start of employment;
• be registered in the YCW online candidate inventory;
• be willing to commit to the full duration of the work assignment; and
• not have another full-time job during the YCW work assignment.
• Students in an YCW employment program must also:
• have registered as a high school, college, CEGEP, or university student (as defined by their educational institution) in the semester preceding the YCW work assignment; and
• intend to return to studies during or after the YCW work assignment.”
