PREVENTATIVE AND EMERGENCY
MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES
The Township remains committed to the installation of fully accessible features, and redevelopment to remove barriers in existing infrastructure. As such, preventative and regular maintenance are essential to ensure these features remain available for use by residents at all times.
To ensure the availability of all accessible features, and preserve the safety of all residents and visitors to the area, the Township is committed to the following:
– To undertake annual inspections of all sidewalks and trails to identify and repair any areas that have shifted or settled creating potential hazards;
– To undertake annual inspections of all playground equipment to identify and repair any areas that present a potential hazard;
– To undertake a third of all Township buildings annually to ensure all accessible features are fully operational.
In the event any accessible feature is temporarily unavailable, every effort will be made to reasonably provide access to a similar feature. Repairs to temporarily-unavailable accessible features will be tagged as urgent.
The St. Clair Rover Trail is closed for the winter months by Bylaw 45 of 2018 and maintenance is done annually to ensure safety for all users.
