SLWC Program for the Township of St. Clair

Sewage Service Line Warranty Protection is now being offered

The Township of St. Clair Council approves Service Line Warranties of Canada Inc. (SLWC) to offer the National Service Line Warranty Program to homeowners located in our municipality. The Warranty Program offers voluntary warranty protection at an affordable price for sewage lines in the event of a failure. This new optional warranty service will begin in the summer of 2018. Homeowners will receive a letter\card in the mail from SLWC.

The SLWC Warranty Program offers protection against normal wear and tear, which is not covered under most traditional homeowners policies. If lines break, leak or clog – SLWC will repair the line using local, licensed contractors who are familiar with local code and can ensure a timely response. This program provides up to $5,000 in coverage per incident. Additionally, the program has no annual or lifetime limits, service fees or deductibles – just protection when you need it most. SLWC provides first-class customer service with a 24/7 repair line and the use of licensed and thoroughly researched local contractors – keeping dollars in the local economy.

To enroll call SLWC at 1-844-616-8444 and live operator will be available to help.

CCTV Inspections and Sewer Flushing

NOTICE

Over the next few weeks, St. Clair Township will be conducting sewer flushing and camera inspections in the village of Corunna. This is part of St. Clair Townships annual infrastructure maintenance and inspection program.

Please note the following details:

  • The equipment used may block sections of the road and driveway entrances. This will be temporary and should only be for a few minutes at a time.
  • The process uses high velocity jet flushing in the sewers, which can cause toilets and sinks to gurgle. This is a normal occurrence and will not negatively affect your plumbing.

The work is anticipated to be completed during the months of April and May.

We thank-you for your cooperation as we continue to improve our municipal infrastructure. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact:

Public Works at   519-867-2125 option 3.

Sewer Main Flushing

St. Clair Township Residents

Public Works will be flushing sewer mains connected to the St. Clair Township sewer system during the hours of 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM beginning May and continuing into the fall. During this maintenance procedure you may notice some gurgling noises in drains.

If conditions persist after 24-48 hours of normal use, please notify Public Works @ 519-867-2993 option 3.

We are currently performing sewer flushing in the following zones below.

Hydrant Flushing

St. Clair Township Residents

Public Works will be undertaking annual flushing of fire hydrants connected to the St. Clair Township Water Distribution System during the hours of 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM beginning April and continuing into the fall. During this maintenance procedure you may notice some water discolouration using your taps, flushing toilets, doing laundry, etc. as some sediment may be drawn into your residence. We recommend that you run the cold water tap for a few minutes or until the discolouration disappears.
If discolouration of the water continues after 10-15 minutes of normal use, please notify Public Works @ 519-867-2993 option 3.
